(lol) If you have a ticket to our show, feel free to drop by for a *free* open rehearsal on 7 May 3-5pm! You'll get to get to play around with some of the objects, tools, and ideas we used in our show and have a chat with some of us who are working on the show, including the director, sound artist and playwright. This is @shienofhian , the boomer who took over this IG account and wrote the unhinged posts. If you vibe with them, you should consider getting a new sense of humour. He recently quit his full-time job sending emails and handling excel spreadsheets to produce this show, to send emails and handle excel spreadsheets, for less money. Here’s how I imagine he writes his posts: At 12pm, he sits down with a flat white in Lola’s Café and a deadline of 6pm. He spends some time watching YouTube videos, some time buying his laptop sleeve on Shopee, some time looking for part-time work, writing his next script, doing his Duolingo for the day, learning advanced combinatorics on Wolfram Alpha, travelling in Melbourne, solving world hunger, before realizing that it’s 5:50pm and all he’s written is a joke about ‘unhinged posts’. It isn’t even a good joke. Unfazed, he uses ChatGPT to write the post and hope Edward the boss doesn’t realize. He doesn’t. Phew. One more post down, one more week till the next one is due. Just kidding. He doesn't wake up earlier than 4pm. If you’ve made it till the end of this post, congrats! You might just enjoy the play that we happen to be putting up, Rhinos, running from 4-7 May 2023. In doing research for this post, we stalked her linktr.ee and found a list of credits and awards even longer than Vick’s hair as well. (see previous post) (no seriously, go check out her IG and website and all!!!) She has extensive experience both in Singapore and Australia (where she studied Acting), performing not only for the stage, but also for audio projects and podcasts. Which means she has the remarkable ability to thrive in multiple habitats, much like rhinoceroses. THAT was a clever segue into talking about the show, Rhinos, which runs from 4-7 May 2023.
